Tomahawk Boatramp
This boat ramp, managed by Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST), is a single-lane concrete ramp that extends onto the beach. Due to the surrounding tidal conditions, it is generally only suitable for launching and retrieving boats from around three-quarters to full high tide.
The ramp is largely exposed and offers little natural protection from wind, swell, and changing weather conditions. As a result, wave action can sometimes make launching or retrieving boats difficult or unsafe. Sand movement around the base of the ramp is also common, and at times this can create a noticeable drop-off at the end of the concrete ramp.
For those with suitable vehicles for beach launching, there is a nearby beach access point to enable launching and retrieving of boats directly from the shoreline.
Parking in the immediate vicinity of the ramp is limited, although additional parking can be found further along the road. Public toilets are also located a short distance up the road from the ramp.
