This less common Chiton can be found locally around Tomahawk and is known from recorded specimens at Tomahawk Point in the subtidal zone under rocks

Identification

It features a shell that is ovate in shape with waved wrinkles, the surface is very minutely punctured giving it an appearance like a coarse cloth or canvas. The girdle is wide densely covered with elongate spicules, always laying flat on the girdle surface. 

Colour is variable often pink, mottled or splashed with white, otherwise patterned in reddish browns or greens
