White-bellied Sea-eagles are usually found alone or in pairs. They hunt prey items on the ground and water surfaces and will eat on a feeding platform or in flight. They also feed opportunistically on carrion and steal from other birds.

Head and underparts white, back grey. Rear edge of wings dark grey, and top of wing grey. Short white tail with a small pointed end. Young birds mottled brown instead of plain white. Calls sound like the honking of geese.
